Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia Family Assistance Fund

CHERUBS CDH Family Assistance Fund was created to help meet the financial needs of families affected by Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia.

The majority of this fund will go to help families with travel expenses such as airline tickets and gas. It will not go to lodging because CHERUBS highly recommends the free lodging available at Ronald McDonald Houses. Ronald McDonald Houses offer families a safe, sanity, germ free, allergen free, health inspected, conveniently located place to stay during their childrens' hospitalizations that hotels and guest homes cannot provide. They also offer emotional support through friendships made with other families also staying at the house and often they offer meals as well through donated house dinners made by local volunteers. CHERUBS has been proudly working with Ronald McDonald House Charities for 15 years.

Our goal is to make sure that all CDH families can afford to get to their cherub’s medical center and have a place to stay so that they can concentrate on their children instead of travel worries. We hope to assist a family through this fund by Fall, 2010. Families will submit confidential applications to assistance and our Advisors will consider each request.

The small percentage of this fund (along with a portion of the CDH Family Support Fund) will go to the CDH HOPE Totebag project, a new program that helps new and expectant families by supplying them with items needed during their cherub's neonatal period.

$20 can cover 1 gift bag for a CDH family from Gabe's Gifts
$20 can cover 1 family's gas for a day
$50 will cover a gas card for a family going back and forth to the hospital
$500 can cover a plane ticket for 1 family member

If you would a Donation Acknowledgment sent to the family of the person the donation was made in honor/memory of, please also send us their mailing address. The Donation Acknowledgment will only list your name(s), the name of the person(s) the donation was made in honor/memory of, and the date of the donation. We never list the amount of the donation.
